David Mincberg Proves He Has No Plan for Harris County
My Challenge to Mincberg: Take a Stand on the Issues

Nearly four months after winning the Democrat nomination for Harris County Judge, David Mincberg has yet to take a stand on a single issue among the many facing Harris County.  When visiting his website under the "issues" section, potential voters are greeted with a message that says, "Check back in the weeks and months ahead to learn where David stands on the issues."

I find it unbelievable that David Mincberg is seeking to become the County Judge of the largest county in Texas, but refuses to tell voters a single idea he has for Harris County if he should get the job.  It is obvious that Mincberg, like most Democrats this year, is relying on the tired and meaningless mantra of "change" because he has no other ideas and solutions to offer.  Of course, this tactic should come as no surprise to anyone, since it is the same old tired tactics that Mincberg learned as Chairman of the Harris County Democrat Party—a position that he conveniently fails to disclose on his website.

When comparing Mincberg's empty rhetoric to our current County Judge Ed Emmett’s record of accomplishment and bold vision, the choice for voters in November is clear.  Judge Emmett not only says where he stands on taxes, he has successfully proven his leadership on the issue by helping to pass the largest tax rate cut in Harris County history.  Meanwhile, David Mincberg is silent on the issue of taxes.

On the issue of protecting our senior citizens, Ed Emmett has been an outspoken champion, having successfully led the effort to increase the homestead exemption for seniors so that they pay lower taxes.  Meanwhile, David Mincberg sits quiet on the issue of protecting our Harris County seniors.

As foreign interests sought to gain control of our local toll roads, Ed Emmett took a stand against them and worked with our Texas Legislature to ensure that local toll roads remained in American hands.  And where does David Mincberg stand on the issue of our local toll roads?  Well, we will just have to wonder, because he is silent on that issue as well.

When it came time take a stand on the issue of property tax relief for the citizens of Harris County, Judge Ed Emmett made his position known and stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Harris County Tax Assessor Paul Bettencourt when they both testified before the Texas State Senate.  David Mincberg certainly wasn’t in Austin fighting for us.  In fact, he has yet to take a stand on this issue either.

I challenge David Mincberg to follow the lead of County Judge Ed Emmett and let the voters of Harris County know where he stands on the issues.  It is unfortunate that Mincberg currently has no plan for Harris County, but perhaps he can find one in the "months ahead" as he promises.  The citizens, voters and taxpayers certainly deserve to know where he stands.

Sincerely,

Jared Woodfill

Chairman, Harris County Republican Party

The New Path Ahead Of Us

I am happy to provide this new service to inform the Hispanic community of Houston, Harris Co and surrounding counties about the new changes that we, as Hispanics are facing.   The main purpose of this newsletter is to inform, and incorporate the core values that have been the basis of the ideology of the Republican Party. The Republican Party platform is identical to the family values that all Hispanics believe in such as, Marriage of man and woman, Pro-Life, giving an unborn child the right to live which are the same core beliefs of the Hispanic population. The other significant belief is Limited Government that encourages Free Enterprise, equal rights, life and civil liberties for all.  The Republican Platform expresses this Ideology and is the strength of CHANGE.  This change is a wider vision that is working for you and adapting to the new change is a global transition that Hispanics can embrace immediately.

The political activities that have taken place recently in the Primary of Tuesday March 4, locally in Harris County are the newly elected Republican Precinct Chairs who have been encouraged to make the biggest change in a predominant, historically democrat precinct. These leaders have the same Ideology of the Republican platform that reflects their beliefs and are diligently working in line with the changes required by the new times.

In my position as the Republican nominee for State Representative Dist. 143, in the General election of November 4, I have worked for the past two years educating the community about the Republican Party and have strongly supported these newly elected precinct chairs who have been chosen to do right for the party and are aware of the responsibility that rests on their shoulders, which is to uphold and maintain good judgment and integrity of what the Republican platform is based on.  Together,  we have  began to educate our community of what our Republican leaders have accomplished in Austin and I have been particularly attentive to the legislative issues that are directed specifically  towards our District.

A New Republican Vision

Democracy evolves with passing of time and in order to survive adaptations to the changes that are  required by the new times it is important to remain firmly anchored to its fundamental values and principles. There are authoritative Republican representatives who more than others are aware and are open minded to the new requirements have decided to give their contribution to the evolution of our party; working especially with important components of American society.

This positive approach has also been directed to the enhancement of the contribution that Hispanics  have given for decades to the progress of our Country. Among  the Conservative personalities, our Presidential candidate, Sen. John McCain  and our local County Judge, Ed Emmett have a new and more advanced vision of the function of our party. Conservatism exists in the Hispanic culture that reflects the Republican Party platform. It is no longer the  political party  of the elite. Therefore, It is the party that mainstreams the conservative ideals of our late Conservative democrat, John F. Kennedy that is the reflection of family values and the American way. It is time to see the other side of the coin to counterbalance the populous appeal of the democrats who continuously keep Hispanics from the real truth of who administers the tax cuts and who keeps misappropriating more tax dollars from government funded programs.
